Ask and You Shall Receive!

“Famous  last words!” The harried Event Planner thinks to herself as she desperately searches for that order for her step and repeat banner that she KNOWS she had her staff order months ago. This run and walk marathon was for one of her favorite clients and her favorite charity and there had to be the proper amount of glitz and glamour for the winners and the sponsors to hand out the medals and awards!

Where was that order!?marathon-charity-step-repeat

Uh oh..here it is.
She looks at the order and realizes her ordering person had been rushed to the hospital when her water broke precipitating her own personal event … but leaving the ordering and scheduling for this event and…. (oh no!) the next three events… without their needed media walls and banners …not to mention all the red carpets, ropes, lighting, ad etcetera …UN-ordered!

Step and Repeat LA! She sees the website and gives them a call praying they can help her out of this jam without putting her over budget or costing her clients even more money. The professional staff of Step and Repeat LA were understanding and sympathetic to her dilemma. They immediately went into action and helped the stressed-out Event Planner organize her needs for all four upcoming events. They also worked with her on exactly what she had envisioned for each client down to the sizes, materials, designs, and patterns…even offering experienced advice that would help her make the best impact for the best price.Because Step and Repeat LA is used to the demands of a fast paced world, they had no problem filling her orders and shipping them out with plenty of time left for placing and installation. The marathon went off as most beautifully planned and came in under budget!
The Event Planner was a happy happy person!

What A Night!

The tables are set. The lights are adjusted for intimacy and the seating has been planned to the last detail.
The music is low, inviting conversation while relaxing to listen to, and the table arrangements are fresh and exquisitely done in a low motif so one can see their fellow patrons.

Step and Repeat LA has, once again, provided the perfect media wall and strategically placed Step and Repeat LA banners in the grand foyer and off to the side of the grand doors leading to the luscious gardens. Red carpet and indirect lighting provide the perfect setting for those celebrity shots the patrons love to have taken and for the tasteful media exposure that is sure to come.

The Event Coordinator is relaying directions while scanning the room to make sure the staff, musicians, and catering waiters are where they should be. The guests start to arrive and the Event Planner watches discreetly to make sure the limos drop the guests right in front of the red carpet and the doormen open and help out the arrivals.

The camera lights are flashing and the people are guided over to the first Step and Repeat LA banner, to be welcomed by the Hostess, with a beautifully done photo of the Charity Foundation placed next to it.

Step and Repeat LA has provided step and repeat banners and step and repeat media walls along with the red carpet, lighting, and other accoutrements, to take this event where the Event Planner’s direction have led.

Tasteful and professional with the appropriate touch of Glamour!

Bat Mitzvah Glitz and Glamour

Bat Mitzvah Glitz and Glamour – Thursday, March 15, 2012

Bat Mitzvah Glitz and Glamour!

Step and Repeat LA has been helping bring the exact flair needed to pull off the perfect bat mitzvah party since its inception.
There’s just one thing you can say about a bat mitzvah. PARTY!
As all parents world-wide know, this is a very special time in the lives of the coming of age daughter in her life as well as her parents, and everyone wants to celebrate this special event with the razz and matazz of the haute couture. When else does your daughter feel more like a princess and celebrity!
Mothers and fathers hire the best to help plan this event and nothing but the most exclusive will do for their precious daughter.
The theme has to be original and the setup for the party perfect. This might include renting a hall and hiring the best DJ in town or maybe a

band. The dresses designed by the most élite dress designers, photographers on hand, and an area especially designed for the celebrity girl. A red carpet and an exclusive and unique step and repeat banner from Step and Repeat LA makes a statement for one and all.

Here is what one Event Planner had to say after pulling off a great event for his client’s daughter, having Step and Repeat LA supply him with
just the right banner and accoutrements for her bat mitzvah party:

“Thanks for your speedy and professional service working with our artwork for this Juicy Couture themed Bat Mitzvah!

It was a pleasure working with you and look forward to working together in the future.
Thanks,”

Tips for Storing Your Banner

Allow a place for storage

Before you order a banner, please take into consideration that the banner must be rolled up a tube. If you are ordering an 8′ x 8′ banner, that means it will be rolled up on an 8′ long tube. Please allow a place for this long tube to be stored…a corner in a closet works well, as long as the ceiling isn’t too low.

Allow for Transport
Surprisingly, an 8′ x 8′ rolled up banner on a tube DOES fit in most cars. However, please don’t expect to carry it on your motorcycle or in a smart car. Yes, a customer did show up to our shop in a smart car expecting the banner to fit. Eek!
It should fit in most elevators.
If you are going to be tying it to the top racks of a truck, be wary of the bungee cords! If the bungee cords are too tight on the banner, it will actually form creases in the banner! (We’ve learned this the hard way.) So, try to put some sort of padding (cardboard works well) between the bungee cords and banner.
Never fold the banner
If you fold the banner, you pretty much ruin it. The creases will stay permanent. Always keep it rolled up nicely on a cardboard tube. If you lose the tube, you can purchase one from Step and Repeat LA for a small charge. If your banner was accidentally folded, see below to try to fix it. Please make sure any assistants you hire to set-up or take-down the banner, know about not folding the banner!

How to fix a folded banner
You can try:
Hair drying the banner to warm it up and thus loosen the creases.
Laying it out flat in the sun to warm up and then rolling it back up
on a tube.
Then, when you fasten banner to stand, zip tie it really tight to
the stand. Zip ties can take a lot of the wrinkles out of a banner if
you do it right. (We can send you these at no cost if you need more).
This should help. If you do all of the above and the creases are still
too noticeable, I would suggest ordering a new banner. We keep all art
files. And since you’re a repeat customer, you get 5% off your order.
Fabric Banners
Fabric banners are more forgiving the vinyl banners. They are more crease and wrinkle-resistant and can be ironed. Some types of fabric are more wrinkle-resistant than others. You can even loosely fold certain types of fabric banners! I personally always recommend rolling the material on a tube so that it can have less wrinkles as possible. But if you are transporting the banner, and would like the banner to fit in a small bag, that is fine! Just unroll it as soon as you can. And when storing it, try to roll it on a tube before the next use.
I hope that helps.
Feel free to call Step and Repeat LA if you have any more questions.

Good Golly, A Goat!

“Come on ..let’s go see,” whispered Bobby as he nudged me with his baseball glove, “They might be gone if we wait!”
“Where are they?” I whispered back.
“Over there by that big truck…see!?” Bobby pointed and sure enough there was a truck parked right next to the picnic tables near the trees.
“How did they get that big ol thing in there?”
“Who cares. Come on ..don’t you hear ‘em?”
“Hear what?” Bobby grabbed my shirt and started dragging me toward the big truck.
The cleats on my baseball shoes churned up dirt as they tried to grip the slippery slope down the side of the hill.
All of a sudden I heard a sound like an elephant clearing his nose and the braying like the sound of a goat. Now I was curious!
“How many animals do you think are down there?” I asked Bobby as we started running towards the sounds.
“I don’t know, but if we don’t hurry my mom is going to find us and we’ll never get to see them.
“You better be quiet,” Bobby whispered loudly, “or somebody might hear us!”
“Me! You’re the one making all the noise.”
“Sssh, they might hear you.”
“Okay, okay.”
Bobby lead us straight over to the back of the truck near the big tires and then he got down on his knees and peered around the edge of the truck.
“Oh wow! Look! You can just see ‘em,” Bobby whispered over his shoulder.
“Hey! Let me look!”
I crouched down while putting my hands on bobby’s back and leaned over him to get a look for myself.
There they were!
A baby elephant, a baby donkey, two baby sheep, a pony, a really big turtle (big enough to climb on) and a few more animals that were hidden behind the ones we could see. Oh boy!
“Do you think we could get close enough to touch ‘em?” I asked Bobby.
“Are you crazy! See that big man over there?” he said pointing to a man with gloves on grabbing the big bales of hay from the truck bed and throwing them into the fenced-in area the animals were in.
“He could throw us into the trees if he wanted to,” Bobby said.
Yeah I guess he could, I thought.
Just then something made a sound like a cat who got his tail stepped on by big foot. Again came the screech!
Bobby and I jumped up and started running in the direction we had been crouching which ended up being smack dab into the temporary fence. The fence shook and little did we know that the rope, looped from the gate to the fence, came loose and the gate started to swing open.
This would have been okay if it wasn’t for the fact that when the fence was rattled by us running into it, it startled the donkey who was resting against it, waking him up and sending him right into the pony who got riled up and bit the first thing he saw which happened to be the baby elephant who let out a scream and started running for the open gate. This frightened the goat who took off running after the boys.
By this time we were well on our way back up the hill and into the rec. center where the peewee T-ball awards banquet was being held.
“Just look at you two,” my mom said as she stood frowning down at Bobby and me, “how did you both manage to get your uniforms dirty during a banquet? They haven’t even served the food yet”
She took some napkins off the table and dipped them in a water-glass and started swiping at the dirt on our faces. Bobby’s mom arrived and took one look at us and bent down and started trying to straighten our uniforms and pat out the worst of the dirt.
“You need to go stand with your team!”
“They’re just starting to hand out the trophies… and look!”
Mom pointed over to the step and repeat banner and the steps that lead up to it.
There was Timmy, standing on the box set up to make us tall enough to have our pictures taken with the head coach.
The coach had just bent down to pick up a paper he’d dropped when all of a sudden a big goat leaned over him and bit his baseball hat along with his new wig right off the top of his head and began chewing it. The goat had moved so swiftly that the coach didn’t even notice.
Timmy’s mouth hung open as the camera lights flashed and all the kids and their parents started applauding and cheering!
The coach (who also happened to be the mayor of our town) thought they were clapping for him. He smiled and waved while the crowd went wild. The goat chewed on.
Bobby and I laughed until we were rolling on the floor. So much for clean uniforms!

The Cricket Did It

Geoffrey squinched down in the grass as he watched the cricket sunning itself on a fallen leaf. He knew if he was quiet enough the cricket might start chirping again. Geoffrey hadn’t made up his mind if he wanted to capture the cricket but he knew he didn’t want to lose sight of it.

Suddenly, a slight breeze came through and it was like a flag had come down signaling the cricket to take flight. Geoffrey reached out and tried to grab the cricket but just missed as he watched the cricket fly up onto the stage where the fake grass and the red carpet were.
This was the annual Easter day events day and the grounds were awash in bright flowers and colorful balloons with a table for trophies and ribbons to be given out.

Geoffrey was trying not to be noticed as he climbed up onto the stage to follow the elusive cricket. Just as he was about to pounce on his prey, the cricket again took flight and did a dizzying loop de loop to land squarely on top of the microphone that was being held by the local interviewer who was standing next to the stage directing the placement of the lights for the upcoming photo and interview sessions in front of the step and repeat banner.

His cameraman was on hand calibrating his equipment when he noticed the little boy with the bow tie and grass stained pants intently watching the mic and as he leaned closer the cameraman could see the cricket perched on the mic. He adjusted his camera and started snapping while the little boy (now standing) got within a nose length to the cricket. Holding his breath, he stared at the cricket.

The following day the picture on the front page of the local paper was not a picture of the award-winning bonnet makers or the prettiest
dress or even the Easter bunny handing out trophies. It was of a little boy named Geoffrey all disheveled and grass stained standing in front of the step and repeat banner staring openmouthed at the little brown cricket perched on top of the interviewers mic with the caption that read, “Crickets are Better than Easter Eggs, anyway!”
